In practice, AI sovereignty agendas reflect economies&#x2019; strategic priorities to strengthen AI capabilities, aiming to reduce dependence on foreign entities, protect national interests and enhance competitiveness. Several economies have therefore attempted to compete by owning the entire AI value chain, from raw materials to AI-based applications.</subfield>
