Long overlooked by the EU, this is a region that shares many similar challenges, values and priorities, not least in accelerating its digital and green transitions in a socially inclusive manner. The EU could find an invaluable ally in LAC to cooperate with at the regional, subregional, and bilateral levels not only on both transitions but more broadly in sustaining the rules-based multilateral order.
